Sheriff Update 2/9/22

A little over a year ago, I walked into the Sheriff’s Office as the newly elected Grundy County Sheriff. It was a day mixed with emotions after a very contentious election; but none the less exciting. It was time to start a new chapter in my life and the lives of others.

I am very fortunate to have Chief Deputy John Nicholson and Deputy Chief Eric Werden who agreed to give up their life and careers to embark on this journey with me.  Our first order of business began with rebuilding morale, listening to the employee’s concerns, and uniting our office.  The healing process began day one.  The next 12 months came with a long list of goals to be completed.  We experienced some cases that brought out the best in our staff; all the while keeping our goals in mind.  The citizens of Grundy County have embraced me as the Sheriff more than I could have ever imagined and for that, I thank you!!

As we begin year two, our focus will continue to provide a quality service each of you can be proud of.  I am always open to suggestions on how we can improve.

On behalf of my family and the employees of the Sheriff’s Office, we are truly appreciative of the support we have received from the Grundy County Board and from the citizens of Grundy County.
